Name: Bekah
Age: 23
Occupation: Grad Student
As of now, I am almost done with grad school...only 2.5 months to go! After I graduate, I hope to attain my dream job
of working as an athletic trainer at the high school level. It has always been my dream to work with student-athletes at the
high school level. Although I know that high school sports are becoming more competitive and highly skilled, there still
is not as much pressure on the athletes as there would be at a higher level. I love to watch sports, my favorite being
basketball. Everytime someone hears that, they ask 'What's your favorite pro team?' And the thing is, that I really
don't have a favorite team...I mean growing up in northwest Indiana there was no question, you're a Bulls fan, plan
and simple! Then go to college in an area other than that one little corner of Indiana where the time changes to stay with
Chicago while the rest of the state stays on Indy time, and how can you not be a Pacers fan? The thing is, I don't
really have favorite teams, but rather favorite players. I might not be able to say that I am a Bulls fan, but I can say that
I am a Kirk Hinrich fan. I'm also a Bryce Drew fan...he's a great guy and who can forget The Shot? And, of course, I'm a fan
of Nick Collison too. Lots of people say they are college basketball fans or professional basketball fans, but I, on the other
hand, am a fan of high school basketball. Seriously...have you ever seen Greg Oden play? How about Luke Zeller? Talk about
a good player...6'11 and you think he's the big man inside, that is until he pulls up and shoots that half court shot to win
the state title. He is the definition of team player, and the kid is smart. Watch for him out of Norte Dame next year. But
one of my personal favorites to watch is Jake Kelly, he's only a sophomore but he can play. At a slim 6'4 you'd almost
think he's too thin, but he has the best ball-handling skills out of anyone I watched this year, or for the past 5 years for
that matter. What impressed me the most, though, was when he laid down an impressive dunk that had fans yelling, and then
hurried back to play defense as if the fans were yelling for someone else...A completely different attitude than that of a
player in the previous game who, after a high-flying dunk, flexed, yelled, and played up the crowd in a completely obnoxious
fashion. If you didn't figure it out already, my biggest pet peeve is cockiness! Since I could talk forever about basketball,
I am going to stop myself there and go on with some other interesting facts about myself...
